DOBOT CR10A is a collaborative robot with a 10 kg payload and 1300 mm working radius. It is positioned for CNC machine tending, mobile robot systems, tool changing, welding, assembly and part handling.
The CRA platform combines drag teaching, a high-speed EtherCAT control loop, absolute positioning accuracy below 0.3 mm and endpoint jitter below 0.4 mm. The manufacturer states that drag-to-teach can reduce commissioning time by up to 80%; actual results depend on the process and integrator experience.
Application areas
CNC machine tending, mobile robot systems, tool changing, welding, assembly and part handling. The CRA platform is also used in automotive, lithium-battery, 3C electronics, semiconductor, packaging, metalworking, plastics and chemical, medical and laboratory automation.
Documented DOBOT case studies
The supplied case-study collection shows mobile systems built around a CR10-class arm and an AGV serving multiple CNC machines. In one project, the robot loaded and unloaded notebook back covers for drilling and contour milling, using vision and wireless machine communication for door control, blow cleaning and job calls. The case reports that one composite robot served up to eight CNC machines and doubled line efficiency.
Other examples include 24/7 profile-milling support, automatic exchange of 21 tools weighing up to 1 kg each on a FANUC-α-T21iFb machine, and a combined operation where a dual gripper unloads a finished part and loads a blank. The tool-change case states that one mobile system can serve 20–30 machine tools.
These cases use the earlier CR10 designation and project-specific integration. They demonstrate a relevant application architecture but do not guarantee the same performance for CR10A without engineering validation.
Integration and safety
- 24 general-purpose digital inputs and 24 outputs with PNP/NPN support.
- Modbus TCP/RTU, EtherNet/IP and PROFINET; TCP/IP development in C++, C# and Python plus ROS 1/ROS 2 support.
- PC, tablet or teach-pendant operation with wired and wireless control.
- PLd Cat.3 safety controller and more than 20 safety functions aligned with ISO 13849-1, ISO 10218-1 and ISO/TS 15066.
- Electromagnetic brakes lock the joints in about 18 ms; collision detection, retreat and virtual safety zones are supported.
Fence-free operation is only appropriate after a risk assessment, safe-speed and force validation, and verification of the gripper, tooling, vision system and surrounding machinery.
Technical data was transcribed from the 2026 DOBOT CRA Series brochure and Composite Robot Case Studies. Final configuration, tooling compatibility and safety parameters must be confirmed before ordering.
